I don’t think it’ll be physically possible for me to visit every single dessert shop on my list of places to visit, though you’d best believe I’ll try. Joining that ever-growing list today is Malaysia’s very own The Ice Cream Bar, specialising in alcoholic ice cream flavours.
The Ice Cream Bar’s located at Kampong Bahru is the first outlet to begin operations outside Malaysia, and offers a range of alcoholic ice cream flavours that go beyond a basic rum and raisin combination. A Single Scoop will set you back S$4.90, along with Premium Flavours (+S$1) and Double Premium (+S$2). Of course, if you’re going all out, opt for Buttermilk Waffles (S$10.90 with single scoop, S$14.50 with double scoop) and treat yourself to a boozy, decadent dessert.
Dessert fiends can expect premium flavours such as Kahlua Cheesecake (S$5.90), Coffee Crunch Whisky (S$5.90), Bailey’s Brownies (S$5.90), Smoked Cognac (S$5.90), and Bacardi Choc Crunch (S$5.90).
If you want to treat yourself, opt for double premium flavours such as Sicilian Pistachio (S$6.90) and Guinness Pistachio (S$6.90). The Ice Cream Bar’s offerings are a far cry from basic cheesecake or coffee flavoured sweet treats, and I, for one, am excited to give the Bacardi Choc Crunch a shot.
The Ice Cream Bar also offers drinks such as The Affogato (S$7.80) and Iced Latte Float (S$8.20) that’s topped with an ice cream of your choice. Not sure if everyone’s a fan of combining coffee, booze, and dessert all in one calorie-laden, sugar-heavy drink, but if you’re asking me, I’m definitely team ‘yay’ on this. After all, this place looks like a pretty good hangout spot with your friends without getting a little too drunk.
