Have you ever seen a coffee pickup point at a HDB void deck room window? I know I haven’t! Ground Floor Coffee is a Muslim-owned takeaway coffee concept spearheaded by Mr. Hasif who churns out freshly brewed coffee from his very own room window in Pasir Ris— how cool is that?
Mr. Hasif would regularly visit cafes around Singapore and purchase different coffee beans from them to experiment at home. He decided to purchase an espresso machine and tryout this takeaway coffee concept— after getting lots of positive comments about his coffee from his friends.
Mr. Hasif’s full time profession as a photographer only allows him to open Ground Floor Coffee from the window of his “work from home” room, during his free time— either Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays only! There are no fixed opening hours or day as it really depends on his work schedule— visit their Instagram page or DM them to find out more.
The menu for Mr Hasif’s espresso-based coffees include Vanilla Latte (S$5), Caramel Latte (S$5) and Lavender Latte (S$6). There’s also Pure Chocolate (S$5) for non-caffeine lovers. Iced versions are also available at the same cost, for now.
If you’re wondering why his coffee is on the pricier side for a home-based business, that’s because he uses only premium specialty coffee beans from New Zealand. Besides coffee, Ground Floor Coffee also sells Kek Gula Hangus (S$2.50), which is a caramelised sugar cake made in-house daily— perfect to go with your coffee!
Ground Floor Coffee also has a loyalty card where you can get one free drink with every 5 stamps. As Mr. Hasif’s espresso machine has just one single head, patience is appreciated if there’s a crowd— chill out with some Spotify music coming from his speaker while you wait, There are a couple of field chairs available for you to sit and enjoy your coffee if you’re lucky enough.
