New in town: Aroma Coffee, Yishun — Coffee that lives up to its name

The newest wing under Aroma Truffle, the “World’s Strongest Truffle Brand”, Aroma Coffee is newly opened as a minimalistic takeaway kiosk at Northpoint Shopping Centre. Freshly brewing since 1 May 2021, Aroma Coffee prides itself on quality coffee brewed with speciality grade single-origin beans sourced from various nooks of the world.

Behind their large wooden counter table lies their menu—two columns of panels with speciality coffee and other drinks at modest prices. They have your standard speciality coffees—Black (S$3.50), White (S$4.50), Mocha (S$4.90), Matcha Coffee (S$4.90)—safe options housed in a reasonably sized 8oz cup for less than five bucks.

However, what’s distinctive is their Spreeze, a fusion of speciality coffee and artisanal tea. Basically, it is the artisanal coffee version of yuan yang that many of us Singaporeans are more familiar with. Steeped for four hours, it is known for its aromatic notes, which warrants you to take a pause, to appreciate the layers and flavours. It has six flavours, available at S$5.50 (8 oz) and S$5.90(12 oz).

For refreshing notes, try the Summer Blossom or Perky Peppermint, while the Vineyard Peach and Dirty Earl are interesting and intriguing flavours that may lure you back for more. Crème Caramel and Mellow Melon are recommended choices for the ones who prefer their coffee a tad sweeter.
