"Top Gun: Maverick", "A Quiet Place Part II" move to new dates

3 Apr – Previously set to open in cinemas this summer, "Top Gun: Maverick" is now a Christmas blockbuster instead as it has been moved to December.
Paramount Pictures have rescheduled some of its upcoming titles, according to Deadline, including moving the "Top Gun" sequel from 24 June to 23 December 2020.
This move means that the Chris Pratt-starring "The Tomorrow War" will no longer open two days later on 25 December, to avoid box office clashes with the Tom Cruise-starrer. As of now, Pratt's movie has no new release date.
Meanwhile, "A Quiet Place: Part II", which director John Krasinski announced was postponed a few weeks ago, is now set to open in North American cinemas on 4 September 2020.
The Emily Blunt-led sequel was originally slated to open in cinemas last month but was pulled from the release schedule when cinemas started facing temporary shutdown due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
As for SpongeBob fans, don't worry, "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run" is still hightailing it to the big screen. It will not open on 22 May anymore though, as it has been pushed to this 31 July.
