Tom Holland has signed up for 3 Spider-Man movies

It looks as though Spider-Man is getting three solo movies.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Spider-Man’ actor Tom Holland revealed how many films are on his Marvel contract… and it’s a pretty good sign.

“I do know I have three Spider-Man movies and three solo movies contracted,” he revealed. “But if you have another movie, Marvel is so good at working around it. They’re very respectful of your life, really. They understand that you have to work on other movies, and they try and fix it up so you can work around each other.”

But it’s not just Spider-man movies, either.

It looks as though Tom Holland also has the option of appearing in a number of other superhero movies… and hints that an Avengers appearance is likely, even if he is unclear as to which movies he has as options.

“They give you options, and those could be exercised whenever,” he said. “Like a cameo in Avengers. I’m unclear as to which movies, though.”

Given that Marvel has been building towards ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ ever since Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems like a sure bet that we’ll see Spider-Man show up at some point.

As for those other options - who knows.

But perhaps he’ll get to meet Ant-Man under better circumstances.

Either way, it looks as though we have a whole new ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy on its way. Will it top Sony’s earlier efforts? For now, we’ll have to wait and see. But Tom Holland is already proving himself to be a rather excellent Spider-Man.

‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ stars Tom Holland as Spider-Man. He’s joined by Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr, Angourie Rice, Zendaya, Tony Revolori, Bokeem Woodbine and Michael Keaton.

Jon Watts directed the movie based on a script he co-wrote alongside Jonathan Goldstein, John Francis Daley, Christopher Ford, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers.

‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ heads to cinemas on 7 July 2017.
