Tom Hardy stopped a robbery, proving he’s an IRL action hero
If you ever had any doubt that he might actually save the day, Tom Hardy stopped a robbery and proved that he is 100 percent an IRL action hero.
While Tom Hardy has been exhibiting a softer side to himself recently by reading bedtime stories (seriously, you need to listen to Tom Hardy read some bedtime stories because it’s magical), the British actor recently saved the day after witnessing an attempted robbery in London.
According to a report by The Sun, the Hollywood star witnessed a motorbike being stolen, and stepped in to prevent the thieves from getting away with the vehicle.
As BBC News note, two teenagers allegedly stole the motorbike in Richmond, London, crashing the vehicle into a parked car. The two teens then attempted to flee the scene, but one of them was apprehended by a certain Mr. Hardy.
“It was mental – like he’d switched to superhero mode in an action movie. Two boys on the nicked moped had jumped a red light and smashed into a car,” Arun Pullen, 22, told The Sun. “Tom must have been walking down the road. He went off like a shot in pursuit and looked furious. If the kid had been dumb enough to resist I reckon Tom would have given him a good hiding.”
“I asked Tom what happened and he told me he chased him through my back garden and caught him around the block – but the route was like an assault course,” he continued.
Police have arrested two sixteen-year-olds in connection with the incident, with Richmond police confirming what had occurred.
“We can confirm that there were two people on a stolen moped that went through a red light and crashed into another vehicle. The males ran off and one was detained by Tom Hardy.Both suspects were initially taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” a spokesperson confirmed.
According to another source, after catching one of the assailants, the actor responded in a typically Tom Hardy manner.
“I caught the c**t,” the actor allegedly boasted.
While Hardy has been reticent to discuss his suitability for the role of James Bond, if this incident proves anything it’s that he’s MORE than qualified for the job.
But seriously, not only does Tom Hardy love dogs (!) and read adorable and soothing bedtime stories, but he also fights crime. What a dream…
