Tom Cruise Will Return For Mission: Impossible 6

Tom Cruise is about to accept his latest impossible mission.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 54-year-old actor will return as Ethan Hunt in the upcoming ‘Mission: Impossible 6’.

“Light the match and cue the music. After contentious dealmaking halted pre-production on Mission: Impossible 6, earlier this summer, Tom Cruise is on the verge of closing his deal to return to the Paramount action-thriller franchise.”

Apparently, a pay dispute halted pre-production on ‘Mission: Impossible 6’ earlier this summer, but now the blockbuster spy franchise is back on track, with Tom Cruise expected to close the deal, shortly.

“Cruise’s return for a sixth installment in a movie series that he has been toplining and producing since 1996 seemed like a no-brainer, but negotiations with Paramount took an unexpected turn with the studio, which was co-financing the movie with Skydance, digging in on things such as backend profit participation.”

And you can see what they mean.

The ‘Mission Impossible’ franchise has raked in a staggering $2.770 billion so far, with the most recent instalment, ‘Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation’ bagging an impressive $682.3 million at the box office.

Getting another sequel off the ground is surely a big priority.

But when will ‘Mission: Impossible 6’ make it to cinemas?

“The project was heading towards a January 2017 start when the pause button was pushed,” they explained. “Now sources tell THR that issues have been resolved and Mission is being re-started. Spring 2017 will be the new start time.”

Obviously, this will have a knock on effect, meaning a later release date to boot.

But when that will be remains to be seen.
