Get your phones ready for this new Instagram spot in Singapore! Tiong Bahru Bakery’s newest outlet, Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari (TBB Safari), is a safari-themed glamping-esque café in Dempsey.

Opening today, 16 November, the TBB Safari shares the compound with the Open Farm Community and even uses ingredients from the farm’s back gardens as part of their new dishes.

The chain’s founder, Cynthia Chua, was inspired to model the newest branch based on the glamping experience on her recent trip to the African safari in Botswana. The interior of this safari-themed bakery was carefully curated with vintage decorations, Kilim carpets, and butterflies taxidermy, yet keeping the Asian touch with the nostalgic red rooster bowls.

Serving up familiar pastries such as their popular handmade croissants, the TBB Safari also carries new products such as the breakfast jars loaded with super foods. The Tapioca Coconut Papaya ($8.50) breakfast jar is served warm, packed with sago in coconut milk. It also infuses the papaya with a pinch of turmeric, giving it a tangy taste. Another TBB Safari exclusive is the Rolled Oats with Black Sesame and Pineapple ($8.80), a nutty yet refreshing serving of breakfast oats.

Bringing a Singaporean twist to outdoor dining, Cynthia lets on that “While Singaporeans want to experience outdoor dining, they want the area to be cool enough. That is something that Singapore cannot offer due to our hot and humid weather.” To tackle the incessant heat, the compound is fitted with huge air coolers, keeping the temperature of the tent at a cooling 25 degrees Celsius.
