After years away from the market, the once-popular smartphone maker Palm is back with a sleek and tiny phone for Verizon Wireless-backed by the NBA megastar Steph Curry. Designed as a companion for your regular smartphone, this $350 Palm syncs with your number so you can leave your big phone at home and still get calls, texts, and even your e-mails and apps. Basically, everything you need to get through the day.

Available with a gold or a titanium frame, the gadget looks like a bona fide fashion accessory. One of the best parts? It’s fully waterproof, which makes this companion device a must-have for beach trips.

After a week of testing the reborn Palm, we began to really enjoy its compact form factor (it easily fits in a small jeans pocket) and distraction-free functionality. The phone’s custom Android interface is a pleasure to interact with-it’s snappy and easy to navigate with one hand.

Our favorite bit about the phone is its ability to enter Life Mode, a setting that might make a millennial scream, but helps people get off the grid for a bit. In Life Mode, the Palm blocks all notifications, allowing you to focus on things and events you care about without being distracted by your device’s notifications.

Palm and Verizon offer a great selection of protective cases and covers for the gadget, ranging from fashion-forward picks, all the way to rugged offerings designed in collaboration with Under Armour. Because, let's be honest, no one is coordinated enough to go case-free.
