‘Tim Tebow Jumping’ Memes Land on Social Media After Former QB’s Baseball Tryout

If you weren’t a fan of praying Tim Tebow during his Heisman Trophy-winning time with the Florida Gators, or fundamentally-flawed Tebow during his short-lived NFL career — how about “Jumping Tebow” now he’s trying his hand at baseball?

The former Denver Broncos quarterback held open tryouts with baseball scouts for around 20 teams in Los Angeles on Tuesday and despite not having competitively played baseball since he was in high school, the overall opinion seemed to be “OK. Better than expected,” according to USAToday Sports.

“That’s a big dude, for as fast as he can run. The power was impressive, but I wish he could have translated it maybe a little better (against live pitching),” one scout, who wished to remain anonymous, told the site.

However, with the 29-year-old Tebow neither bombing or showing brilliance on the diamond, it was a magnificent jump that he made during warmups as he was loosening up that set the internet on fire.

Dubbed “Tebowmania: MLB Edition” by Fox Sports, the memes took over Twitter — with the helping hand of SBNation writer Spencer Hall, who actively encouraged social media users to create them by tweeting: “It would be a real shame if someone did something to this handy cutout image of Tim Tebow jumping.”

Cue Jumping Tebow in “Anchorman,” Jumping Tebow on the Titanic, Jumping Tebow riding wild horses, and even Jumping Tebow on the Iron Throne.
