Tim Kaine Torches Donald Trump in VP Acceptance Speech

PHILADELPHIA–Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine made his first bow on a national stage Wednesday night, imploring Delegates to the Democratic National Convention to defeat Donald Trump, who he called “a dangerous demagogue.”

The Virginia Senator took the stage after New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who blistered Trump as unfit for office. “The richest thing about Donald Trump is his hypocrisy,” said Bloomberg.

“Trump says he wants to run the country like he’s running his business,” added Bloomberg, “God Help us. I’m a new Yorker and I know a con when I see one.”

Kaine accepted the Democrat’s nomination “humbly” and – before turning his sites on Trump. He named many of the other Republicans who vited for the Repulican nomination and described their many qualifications for office.

Employing snippets of Spanish, Kaine quoted other Republicans—from former First Lady Barbara Bush, to John McCain’s national security adviser to Ohio Gov. John Kasich—to condemn Trump as a “risky, reckless and radical choice.”

Kaine rolled out a litany of reports from Trumps’ some-time partners and contractors, in projects like his Atlantic City casinos – to paint the billionaire businessman as reckless and uncaring – from students at his failed Trump university, to retirees who lost their savings when they invested in Trump condos that were never built.

Let’s elect a sane, competent person with sane, international experience,” he said. “And to be a unifier and person who reached out to build consensus…lets elect Hillary Clinton as the next president of the greatest country in the world, the United States.”
