Tiffany Haddish likes to spend time whipping up her own beauty concoctions.
The Girls Trip actress has accumulated an enviable haul of products since making her acting breakthrough in 2017, but she still likes to get experimental and mix up her own creations at home, sometimes with the help of a YouTube tutorial.
“Once a month, I’ll do this hair mask that I found on YouTube: It’s yoghurt, coffee grounds, and coconut oil. Mix all that together and put it in your hair,” she told Allure. “You’re supposed to let it sit for an hour, but I let it sit for two hours. Then I wash it out, and my hair is so shiny and soft and really conditioned. You know, I actually think I’m a scientist — I like putting stuff together, making my own concoctions.
“I remember being broke. And if one day I’m poor and I can’t afford wonderful, expensive products anymore, well, I know how to mix things together and make it work. Just because you don’t have a lot of money doesn’t mean you can’t look good.”
Despite being able to afford high-end haircare products, the Like a Boss star still swears by a concoction featuring apple cider vinegar for giving her tresses a deep cleanse before a shampoo.
“My grandma used apple cider vinegar in my hair, so I still use that too, especially when you see me with those ponytail updos and whatnot. To wash all that hairspray and gel out, I’ll use a mixture of half a cup of apple cider vinegar, water, and a little bit of my Mane ‘n Tail conditioner. It breaks down all that stuff that’s in my hair. Then I’ll just shampoo it like regular,” Tiffany shared.
