Come 9 and 10 June, fans of e-sports, anime and music will come together for the first-ever Asia Game Festival (AGF), taking place at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.

With major e-sports tournaments and big celebrity names, there’s almost certainly something for everyone, whether you’re a fan or just looking for something different for your weekend plans.

Organised by Magika in partnership with the Singapore’s Cybersports & Online Gaming Association (SCOGA) and CPL Digital Entertainment, the inaugural AGF aims to give gamers an all-encompassing experience.

Here are three things to look forward to:

Major E-sports tournaments

The inaugural CPL (Cyberathlete Professional League) Championship for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) will be taking place at the AGF. With top teams from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines battling out to become the first PUBG champion in the region, there’s sure to be loads of excitement amid nail-biting encounters as the challenge to be the last team standing grows increasingly tougher.

In addition, the AGF will be holding the finals of the the Hyperplay Singapore National Qualifier to determine which team will represent the Republic at the first ASEAN League of Legends competition.

Additionally, several games will also be holding their own community tournaments at the AGF. From Pokémon to Street Fighter, experience the thrill of competitiveness with the warmth of the community spirit as these gamers gather to share their communities with the wider audience.

Cosplay

Get ready to be wowed by South Korean cosplayer Aza Miyuko and Thailand’s Yuegene Fay, among others, as they bring their unique styles to Singapore.

Visitors will get the chance to join in the colourful fun with the invited cosplayers in a unique environment. For those who want to show off their own flair and skills, there will also be a cosplay competition where the celebrity cosplayers will judge their creations and pick the best costumes.

Music

No festival would be complete without music, and the AGF is no exception. With two consecutive nights of concerts, fans can enjoy Japanese pop and rock up live and in person

Get ready for popular anime artistes BACK-ON, bless4 and ASAKA, as well as utaite (a form of covers) singer Underbar and DJ Caesar, as they bring an integral part of gaming to life.
