We’ve gotten a trailer and four whole minutes of Alien: Covenant. Now, thanks to Empire, we have three brand new images from the Prometheus sequel.

First up: Someone on the Engineer’s planet, surrounded by some very familiar-looking pods – the kind we first saw in Prometheus.

Then we have Michael Fassbender in one of his dual roles as the android David, in an apparent flashback with Weyland Industries CEO Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce).

Last of all, we have the brand new “Neomorph”, inspired by director Ridley Scott’s fondness for nature documentaries on living nightmares. As Covenant screenwriter John Logan says: “Some of those nature videos are so stomach-churning that they don’t pay me enough to watch them. But Ridley will see something to do with insects swarming, for example, which eventually finds its way into a movie. Usually there’s some sort of grotesqueness we find interesting.”

Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Alien: Covenant opens in Singapore on May 11.
