SINGAPORE - There are certain ingredients in skincare that have stood the test of time, proving again and again to be the most efficacious in terms of getting results and one of them is Vitamin C for skin brightening and anti-aging.

However, it is an ingredient that is known to be highly unstable which oxidises quickly on exposure to light.

Elizabeth Arden knows this too well and used their capsule format to create a Vitamin C serum. Encapsulation has been proven to prolong the stability of ingredients, so you know that each and every dose of this serum is as fresh as the first.

It’s the best way to deliver Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a highly unstable ingredient that oxidises when exposed to light - meaning the wrong packaging can have a huge impact on whether a formula really works.

As well as being in a clever capsule format, the serum is smart too. The capsules use oil-soluble vitamin C, which optimises the delivery to the skin because our own natural oils attract it, making it a better bet than traditional water-soluble formulas.

Helps skin fight dullness, aging, moisture loss and protects skin from free radicals

Besides the brightening powerhouse Vitamin C in its list of ingredients, Ceramides 2 & 3 help protect skin from moisture loss and prolongs its glow.

Clary Sage helps soothe skin from the effects of environmental aggressors and Vitamin E works together with Vitamin C to protect skin against environmental aggressors and free radicals.

Avocado, sunflower seed, and olive oils impart skin with moisturising and skin conditioning benefits.

It’s convenient to take them everywhere you go

The size of these capsules also means that they are travel-friendly and easy to carry around.

Takes the guesswork out of skincare

These single-dose capsules have been pre-measured, guaranteeing that you will not overdo it, use too much or too little.

You can incorporate it into your current skincare routine

You can add these freshly squeezed vitamin C saviours into your existing beauty routine with ease. Use the capsules morning or night, or even double up and do both - just remember to follow up with a sunscreen if you are using it in the daytime, as vitamin C is sensitive to heat and light.

Verdict

There is no doubt these capsules are convenient and it is easy to use them – just give it a twist and smooth over face, neck and décolleté.

It has been classified as a dry oil. In short: Dry oil is a lightweight, non-greasy, quick-absorbing oil for the skin. However, this stuff is way too oily.

Some of it was absorbed and some of it seemed to remain on my face even after I tried to massage it in. The capsule is recommended for morning use, but I cannot imagine trying to put foundation on top of it.

I got a friend with combination skin to try the product and she has the same sentiments as I did.

It might work better on someone with dry skin, but for me, it was a tad too greasy for my liking.

Unfortunately, I was not able to try the product out long enough to see its benefits.
