Third ‘Conjuring’ Film Gets September 2020 Release Date
Warner Bros. has revealed the title and release date of the third “Conjuring” movie. The film will be called “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” and will be released Sept. 11, 2020.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise their roles as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren from “The Conjuring” and “The Conjuring 2.”
Michael Chaves takes over directing duties from James Wan. Chaves directed the sixth film in The Conjuring franchise, “The Curse of La Llorona.”

A synopsis for the film reads:
“The Devil Made Me Do It” reveals a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga). One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.
The Conjuring Universe’s seven supernatural films have brought in $1.9 billion at the box office. Earlier this year, “The Curse of La Llorona” took first place at the box office over Easter weekend. “Annabelle Comes Home,” the latest in the franchise, debuted second behind “Toy Story 4” in June.
Warner Bros. also announced release dates for “The Flash” solo movie and the fourth installment of “The Matrix” on Wednesday.
