The Rock And Zac Efron Bring Gun Show To First Day On Baywatch Set

Primed for those slo-mo running shots through the lapping surf, The Rock and Zac Efron bought their pumped frames to the first day filming the new ‘Baywatch’ movie.

Buddying up with 'Bad Neighbours’ star Efron, who also appears to have been hitting the gym for this latest role, the pair look enormously pleased to be on the Florida set. As one might expect.

“#BAYWATCH Day 1,” The Rock began his caption with a post in his Instagram.

“My character “Mitch Buchannon” just gave@zacefron’s character “Matt Brody” the all important beach speech about what it means to have manly “Alpha balls”.

“Zac’s ad-libbed responses were brilliant! Talented and great dude. World get ready to have some fun, 'cause the beach will never be the same again. #OnSet #BAYWATCH#Day1 #AlphaBalls #NowWhoNeedsMouthToMouth??”

He also dropped in a shot of a script read through, which featured considerably more clothes.

The plot for the new take on the classic 80s series sounds a little more '21 Jump Street’ inspired than the Hasselhoffian era TV show, with The Rock playing The Hoff’s character Mitch Buchanan, and Zac Efron as young hot head Matt Brody.

Getting billed as a comedy on IMDB, the short synopsis explains: “Two unlikely prospective lifeguards vie for jobs alongside the buff bodies who patrol a beach in California.”

There’s also word of the plot involving an oil tycoon threatening the future of their beach.

Also starring are Alexandra Daddario, who appeared with Johnson in 'San Andreas’, Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra making her first foray into Hollywood, Kelly Rohrbach as C.J. Parker, the role originally played by Pamela Anderson, and comedian Hannibal Buress.

It’s due out in May, 2017.
