The Ordinary has fast become one of our go-to skincare brands, which is often praised for its simplistic ingredients that combat a variety of skin concerns.
The brand is now hoping to stand out from the crowd for another reason.
With big shopping events coming up, such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the Boxing Day sales, shoppers may be tempted to buy products they don’t really want, just so they don’t miss out on a bargain.
However, Deciem, the parent company of The Ordinary, is trying to encourage shoppers to be more mindful when they’re shopping.
Last year the brand closed its stores and website on Black Friday, and this year it will be doing the same as part of a Knowvember campaign. The Ordinary has also launched a huge sale, with 23% off everything for the whole month of November, (not just 24 hours), to allow customers the time to think before making any purchases.

As part of the Knowvember campaign Deciem has launched a five-part series, called Skintellectuals, in which beauty experts will discuss skin concerns.
The sale launched on 1 November, and will come to an end on 30 November, which is just days after Black Friday sale on 27 November.
The Ordinary’s sale spans across cleansers, retinoids, vitamin C products, acids, suncare and haircare products.
While some may be looking for hydrating moisturisers, others may be in need of exfoliating BHAs or AHAs to help unclog blocked pores, which are often the cause for breakouts and spots. The Skintellectuals series should help you decide which types of products you would like to try.
