The latest brow product from Benefit Cosmetics is a dream even for beginners
SINGAPORE – Makeup brand Benefit Cosmetics outdid themselves again with the latest addition to their arsenal of brow products. Their new 2-in-1 wax-pencil & powder duo, Brow Styler, was unveiled onboard the Genting Dream Cruise to top influencers and media outlets.
It is multi-functional, containing a waterproof wax pencil for clean and shaped brows, and a powder brush on the other end for a soft and full brow. You can combine the powder and wax for a bold and defined brow. The product clings very well to skin and brow hair, which is why brows drawn using the Brow Styler can last for up to 18 hours!

For a Soft & Full look: Give it a shake and carefully twist open the powder, swirling the precision felt tip around the inside to remove any excess product. Then, apply the powder to your brows to shape and fill sparse areas.
For a Clean & Shaped look: Sculpt and define your brows using the wax-pencil to draw hair-like strokes.
For a Bold & Defined look: Apply loose powder on top of the wax-pencil to amplify your look.
We were pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to apply, even for first-time users.
It comes in eight different shades, so you can easily find one that matches your brow colour.
We spoke to Benefit Cosmetics’ National Brow Artist, Rochelle, about how to achieve the perfect brows.
“The Brow Styler is beginner-friendly. Even though you are a beginner, you can use it because of the applicator itself. For the loose filling powder, the applicator’s size is just nice and for easy filling. For the soft and full brow, use the loose filling powder. If you are just going to apply it alone, analyze your brow in the mirror first and apply it on the sparse areas. It is actually very, very easy to use.”
What is the common no-no that people commit?
“The common mistake is to apply the product at the start of the brow because you need lesser product over there. So for the soft and full look, always start at the sparse areas, and once the applicator has lesser product, you can then work on the start of the brow.”
“For the clean and shaped look, you can use the wax pencil to outline the perimeter of your brow to have a more solid outline and you can start filling the inside. Again, I would recommend not applying too much product at the start of the brow. You can always put it on the less and slowly fill up”, she explains how to create each Brow Styler look.
“For the bold and defined look, since the loose filling powder is the more pigmented one, you can apply the loose filling powder first and if it is not enough, you can always use the wax pencil to build more definition”, added Rochelle.
How to pick a suitable Brow Styler shade for myself?
“I would look at your brow hair colour and the skintone. For example, you have soft black brows so I think shade 3.5 and even 4.5 would work for you. You can use two different shades. The key point is that the start of the brow should be lighter than the rest of the brow”,
With brow pencils, we should always go one shade lighter because you would want the look to be softer.
