The Great Wall: Matt Damon Stars In First Trailer For Surprise Monster Movie
The debut trailer for ‘The Great Wall’ has been released and it’s revealed something about the film that - up until now - had been kept in total secrecy.
That secret? Zhang Yimou’s lavish new epic is in fact a whopping great monster movie!
The director of ‘Hero’ and ‘House of Flying Daggers’ is making his English-language debut with ‘The Great Wall’, and it’s the largest film ever shot entirely in China for global distribution.
As you can see from the trailer it sees an elite force manning China’s Great Wall, protecting humanity from some unseen supernatural enemy.
It stars an international cast that includes Matt Damon, Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe, Hanyu Zhang, Eddie Peng, Lu Han, Kenny Lin,
Junkai Wang, Zheng Kai, Cheney Chen, Xuan Huang and Andy Lau, and is coming to UK cinemas on 24 February, 2017.

As you’d expect from the visionary director, every shot in the trailer is stunning, with sumptuous colours, trailing mists, and dramatic framing adding to the effect that makes every moment seem like its been lifted from a classical painting.
