Imagine falling in love with someone who is dead. Based on the Tom Drury novel of the same name, The Driftless Area explores such an idea — and more. A neo-noir crime drama, the film stars Anton Yelchin (Star Trek) as Pierre, a young man who returns to his hometown following the death of his parents. Soon he finds himself captivated by a mysterious woman named Stella (Zooey Deschanel, star of Fox’s The New Girl), who saves him after he falls down a well shaft.
