Showing scant regard for the highway code is not the only infraction of Dom Toretto and his chums from the ‘Fast & Furious’ movies.

According to a leading insurance company, they’ve also caused nearly £420 million in damage to public and private property over the space of seven movies.

InsureTheGap has done the sums with the help of classic car consultant Nacho Llacer, and plumbed down into the rather horrifying numbers.

Most expensive was the Lykan Hypersport which was totalled in ‘Fast & Furious 7’, at a cost of £2,772,489.

And more upsettingly, rather than the villains totting up the most damage, it’s actually the heroes who claim the most liability – £261,108,631 compared to £158,314,105.

‘Fast & Furious two’ saw a peak for specific car damage, with 40 cars incurring cosmetic damage, and 12 subjected to serious damage.

However, ‘Fast & Furious 7’ managed the most serious damage for its vehicles, coming in at 38 cars damaged.

But most shocking is how the cost of damage in the films has sky-rocketed since ‘Fast 5’, which came in at just under £20 million.

‘Fast & Furious 6’ clocked up over £160 million worth of damage, while ‘Fast & Furious 7’ managed just under £240 million.

But there’s one figure which will put Vin Diesel’s nose out of joint somewhat.

While Dom Toretto has totted up a personal tally of £56,274,037 of destruction over the movie franchise’s history, it’s Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw who wins by a mile from all the characters from all the movies, having caused just over £148 million worth.

Sorry Dom. You’re going to have to up your game for ‘Fast & Furious 8’, due out on April 14.
