From Emmanuelle Béart in the first film to Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa in ‘Rogue Nation’, ‘Mission: Impossible’ has always been a source of strong women.
Of course not all of them have been on Ethan Hunt’s side – but they’ve always been the kind of women who can kick ass and are comfortable breaking into maximum security facilities or attending high society parties.
Even Michelle Monaghan, who played Ethan’s fiancée Julia in Part III and wasn’t even an agent, killed the bad guy and saved her boyfriend’s life after he had an explosive device inserted into his head.
‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ is following on that tradition thanks to Ilsa, with Swedish actress Ferguson doing almost all her own stunts including abseiling down the side of Vienna Opera House.
