'The Aeronauts' trailer: Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones reunite for high-flying adventure
Following the news that The Aeronauts would enjoy its European premiere at the London Film Festival on 7 October, eOne has today released the first trailer for the period adventure film.
Reuniting powerhouse thesps Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones - who last appeared together in 2014âa Oscar-winning The Theory of Everything - The Aeronauts sends the pair skyward as pioneering adventurers James Glaisher and Amelia Wren.
Although Jonesâ character Wren is a historical fabrication, the film is inspired by real events which saw Glaisher pushing the science of meteorology to the next level with a series of daredevil balloon ascents into the atmosphere.
Fantastic Beasts star Redmayne won the Best Actor Oscar at the 2015 Academy Awards for his performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, while co-star Felicity Jones lost out on Best Actress to Julianne Moore for Still Alice.
Directed by Wild Roseâs Tom Harper from a script by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), the film is coming to U.K. and Ireland cinemas and IMAX in November.
However in America the film - produced by Amazon Studios - will receive a day and date simultaneous release in cinemas and on Amazon Prime Video when itâs released there in December.

In September last year, the filmâs production caused a panic in a âsleepy villageâ in Newent, Gloucestershire when a hot air balloon carrying the filmâs stars seemed to be in danger of crashing in the local area.
Onlooker Pat Cowgill told the BBC: âI wondered if it had run out of fuel or it had come loose from its tether.â
âSeveral things were running through my mind and I was concerned they might not be in control or were trying to avoid the town if they had to make an emergency landing.â

Fellow Newent resident Heather Toye added âsome of the villagers were alarmedâ, and it looked like âsomething was wrongâ with the balloon, which seemed to be âin distressâ.
The balloon âlooked wonkyâ and the helicopter seemed âvery closeâ to it, Ms Toye said.
The AeronautsÂÂÂ, starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, is in UK and Irish Cinemas and IMAX 6 November.
