Teyana Taylor enjoys making her own lotions.
The singer, who recently released her limited-edition collaboration with MAC Cosmetics, revealed to Elle magazine that she keeps her skincare routine as natural as possible and likes coming up with her own unique blends.
"My skincare routine is very natural. I use black soap everyday and then maybe 2-4 times a week I'll use a bit of tea tree oil," she shared. "I also love a coffee scrub to exfoliate a couple of times a week, you just leave it on for a minute and it just makes my skin so smooth. At night I'll seal it all in with a bit of coconut oil. I like to make my own lotions, with a bit of shea butter, vitamin E and coconut oil, to keep my skin super natural and glowy."
The singer/songwriter also let fans in on her best kept beauty secret, which she swears by for supple skin.
"Take a scoop of collagen every day. I like to put it in with my berries or coffee or when I'm drinking tea at the studio and it just makes my skin so elastic," she revealed.
Regarding make-up, the 29-year-old has come to realise over the course of her career that "less is more", although she loves how empowering the transformative nature of make-up can be.
"The power of make-up is amazing. It can do everything, whether you want a simple look or a big look, you don't need loads of make-up on your face to achieve that," she stated.
