The 96th Academy Awards were a really good ceremony, with tons of deserving winners and nominees gathering to honor the best movies of 2023. This was one of the tightest Oscars races ever, in every category, and anyone could have a different favorite Best Picture nominee depending on their preferred genre. Well, the many Academy voters have finally spoken, and we can quiz you about the results. If you tuned in live to the show's broadcast or watched some highlights after the fact here are some trivia questions to test your knowledge about the crop of winners and other facts about the show.

Q: Who presented Da'Vine Joy Randolph's Best Supporting Actress award?

Nominated for her role as Mary Lamb in Alexander Payne's dramedy The Holdovers, Randolph was a frontrunner going into the ceremony and ended up winning the trophy, which was both her first Oscar nomination and win.

2023 winner Jamie Lee Curtis announced Randolph as the winner and she was also joined by other prestigious previous winners to praise all the Supporting Actress nominees in an incredibly strong category.

Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas' films have taken home lots of trophies for the technical categories in the past, but the Best Director and Best Picture honors had eluded them until the 2024 show.

While the award went to Christopher Nolan, it was a tight race with veterans like Martin Scorsese and Yorgos Lanthimos in the running, and first-time nominees like Triet and Glazer with their amazing films Anatomy of a Fall and The Zone of Interest, respectively. While neither of these filmmakers won the Directing award, Triet walked away with a win for Original Screenplay, while Glazer's film won Best International Feature and Best Sound.

One of the funniest awards presentations of the night was when stand-up comedian John Mulaney took the stage to present Best Sound and had a bit that came out of left field (that's a hint!).

They both played Batman villains, of course! DeVito played the Penguin in Batman Returns, while Arnie appeared as Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin. They also once starred in the comedy Twins together, which Oppenheimer editor Jennifer Lame shouted out at the beginning of her speech after they presented her the trophy.

The Boy and the Heron won Best Animated Feature at the Oscars, earning director Hayao Miyazaki and his producer Toshio Suzuki a well-deserved trophy, though neither of them accepted the award in person.
