Taylor Swift dropped her "Delicate" music video last night during the iHeartRadio Music Awards and the video is definitely not what you expected! For a ~delicate~ song like "Delicate," you were probably picturing a soft, lovey-dovey music video starring a major hottie set in a romantic city like Paris or Rome, kind of like "Wildest Dreams."
The video takes place at some industry event where Taylor is plastering on a smile for all the paparazzi on the red carpet when she's handed a mysterious piece of sparkling paper. At one point, she's escorted to the bathroom with four security guards. When she gets to the bathroom, she starts making funny faces at the mirror since nobody's watching. But then some girls walk in and she puts on her familiar fake smile - only to realize she's gone invisible!
Once Taylor realizes she's invisible, she loses all her inhibitions and begins dancing like nobody's watching! I'm talking major interpretive dancing, like *Maddie Ziegler in a Sia music video* interpretive dancing.
As always, there are a ton of secret messages hidden throughout the video. Like "Track 5" is spray painted on a pillar at a subway, which is fitting since "Delicate" is the fifth track on Reputation.
There were some references to the "Delicate" song lyrics, like when "It's delicate," "Reputation," and "Echoes of your footsteps," are spray painted on garage doors as Taylor dances down a rainy alleyway.
Then, there was a total nod to Taylor's current bae Joe Alwyn in the form of a sign for a store called "Joe's Deli."
I see what you did there, Taylor!
