Tanya Chua apologises to fans for lack of GMA nominations

19 May – Snubbed of worthy nominations for the upcoming Golden Melody Awards, singer-songwriter Tanya Chua recently took to social media to apologise to fans for letting them down.

The singer posted a long message on Facebook, saying that she was only nominated for Best Composer for one song, "The Will", from her new album "Kisses for the World".

"To be honest, well... from a personal perspective, it's a disappointment. After all these years, I have felt the support and encouragement Golden Melody Awards has given me. But this time, the first reaction is: Ah! I'm sorry to the fans and the whole team. I have let you down!" she wrote.

Nonetheless, said Tanya, she is happy to be able to release "Kisses for the World", as it contains songs that mirror her own perspectives and remind herself of self-love.

"The whole process has been very enjoyable and liberating. This time, I don't want everyone to listen to my music and hide in the corner and cry, but to cheer up, put down the burden and regret, and move on!" she added.

She also congratulated other nominees, including Jolin Tsai and Sandy Lam.
