Ralph & Russo are “counting down the days” until the world can ditch tracksuits and get back to normality.
Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo, the duo behind the fashion house, designed their latest collection in quarantine due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tamara can’t wait to swap her casual loungewear look for something more glamorous once lockdown eases but accepts it could take time.
“I designed this collection with a view into the hopefully not too distant future where things return to some kind of new normal,” she said in an interview with Vogue Australia. “Our clients are looking forward to dressing up again…
“I think we’re all just counting down the days - myself included - until we can wear something other than jeans and tracksuits. Our collection is not limited to special occasions or eveningwear; there are plenty of pieces suitable for travelling, for business (even if remotely - or from the top half up for Zoom calls!) and so on.”
Tamara went on to reveal her favourite outfit from the latest collection is look 50, which she describes as a “large, vibrant” fuchsia pink ballgown.
The designer found the process of creating the dress “uplifting” and “joyful” during so many months of uncertainty surrounding the global health crisis.
Ralph & Russo also confirmed bridal collections are a “major focus” at the moment, and the designers are hoping lockdown measures ease soon so weddings can resume as usual.
