Taipei Film Festival to be held as scheduled despite pandemic

27 May – It was revealed that the Taipei Film Festival will be proceeding as scheduled in conjunction with the government's anti-pandemic measure.

As reported on Epoch Times, in a statement released by the organiser, the festival stated that it will be held from 25 June to 11 July as scheduled, and that the film screenings, the side events and the ceremony of Taipei Film Awards are organised according to the suggestions and regulations of the Central Epidemic Command Centre.

"Since international filmmakers cannot visit Taiwan due to the pandemic, the winners of the International New Talent Competition will be announced online," it added.

However, the festival stressed that the health and safety of moviegoers and filmmakers alike will remain the priority, and that the actual events will be cancelled if any large-scale group infection occurs in Taiwan in the two weeks before the film festival starts or during the film festival.
