Can Venom launch a cinematic universe? According to Collider, the folks at Sony have decided to take a leaf out of ‘Logan’s book, with the upcoming ‘Venom’ spin-off heading for a R-Rating. “We’re hearing that Sony is developing Venom not only as the film to launch their own Marvel Universe, but as an R-rated effort,” they revealed.
Venom, the fearsome supervillain from the Spider-Man universe, is getting his/its own movie, it’s been confirmed. Scott Rosenberg (who penned the likes of Con Air and Gone In 60 Seconds) is teaming with Jeff Pinkner (who’s behind the new Dark Tower and Jumanji reboot, as well as The Amazing Spider-Man 2) have been hired to write the script. It’s not yet known whether current Spider-Man Tom Holland will be involved in the new project, but one would have thought he’s pitch up at some point.
