In this week’s edition of Singapura Street Style, Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore spotted many people donning pin stripes. From oversized shirts to pants, it sure seems to be the go-to pattern for a city-casual look among many along Orchard Road and in the CBD.
As much as we all take note of what comes off the catwalk, we equally love to see what fashionistas are wearing on the street. This year has seen some show-stopping looks come out of the most stylish countries including New York, Paris, Milan and London. Featuring massive Fendi fur hearts, ruffles, velvet and patent galore. Here are all the street style looks that caught our attention this year.
While we love to see our favourite celebrities glammed up on the red carpet – what we like almost more is seeing what they wear while out and about. From sexy dinner date dresses to casual coffee break looks, click through the gallery above to see all the best (and worst) celebrity street style looks this month. Jeans and a tee is a style staple that NEVER goes out of fashion. However, we can sometimes get in a rut and wear the same tee and jean combo over and over again. We need a bit of a shake-up to our fave off-duty outfit. So, here is some inspiration of some unique and unexpected ways you can style your fave wardrobe items
The time has come again, fashion people! New York Fashion Week is upon us and if you’re like us, attending the Alexander Wang show or (not) catching a glimpse of a Kardashian is certainly interesting, but pales in comparison to what people will actually be wearing. Hold onto your last-season Mansur Gavriel bucket bag, for I am unleashing my predictions of what I think the fash-pack will be wearing this month.
Have you ever stumbled upon photos of Fashion Editors at Fashion Week and wished that you could look that stylish? So do we. After all, they are Fashion Editors for a reason and therefore know how to put together the perfect ensembles. You can now get one step closer as we have all the tips and tricks on how you can dress just as perfectly as a fashion professional
When it comes speaking, Beyoncé doesn’t say much (she just gave her first interview since 2013 and the only revelatory bits were that she likes tomato sauce and extra jalapeños on her pizza and that she would be “Destiny’s Child Survivor era with the army fatigues” for Halloween).
When it comes to red carpet dressing, Cate Blanchett loves to take risks—something she made all the more clear on the press junket circuit while promoting her latest film, Truth. At a recent screening in Los Angeles, the Oscar-winning Aussie chose a white knit Proenza Schouler dress with a high neck and bare shoulders, fresh off the New York runway—paired with crisscrossed Louboutin pumps, an easy updo, and glowing makeup. But she wasn’t the only star with an eye for Proenza this week: Fargo’s leading lady, Kirsten Dunst, showed up to the Season 2 premiere of the hit FX show wearing a sleeveless, olive green leather dress with ruffled hem, also by the label. From Zendaya’s sleek, minimalist Elizabeth and James dress to Lily-Rose Depp’s shoulder-baring, technicolor Chanel top, here are the rest of this week’s best dressed.
Cate Blanchett appeared not once, but twice this week in these retrofantastic frames from Gucci. The sunnies seemed to convey a different look for the actress who is known for being a bit of a style chameleon. The overall vibe was equal parts boss lady and ‘70s-era don. Feeling inspired?
Zendaya Coleman, the outspoken Disney star who slays with her fashion-forward sense of style, ever-changing wigs, and amazing words, is at Paris Fashion Week and her presence isn’t just a breath of fresh air, it’s the missing piece, the thing you didn’t even know you needed until it made its spectacular grand entrance. The Kardashian-Jenners are overexposed (the Hadid sisters as well), Rihanna is cool but also cool, and Elizabeth Olsen is beautiful and has sisters who make amazing clothes but — let’s be honest — kind of boring. Then comes Zendaya, walking through Charles de Gaulle in athleisure, appearing like a beacon of hope. She dresses in outfits many wouldn’t dare try, cozies up to the kooky Vivienne Westwood and even wears her equally out-there designs, changes her hair from cornrows to a pixie to a topknot based on her mood, and doesn’t hold back from saying what’s on her mind.
French women love fashion. And non-French women love it too. So it’s no surprise that the guests of Paris Fashion Week—native-born or not—are stepping out in their most fabulous garb for the final leg of the month-long shows. From Parisian legend Emmanuelle Alt’s classic outfit (Chanel flats and all) to Michelle Elie’s Prada knee-high socks and layered pearl necklaces, here’s the looks you’ll j’adore, bien sûr.
Sure, New York Fashion Week is supposed to be all about the clothes coming down the runways, but it’s the outfits outside that are really making a statement — literally. The peacocks are particularly plumy for the Spring 2016 shows, with street stylers not just attempting to grab attention through mismatching patterns and colors, excessive layers, unseasonal fabrics, and the latest “It” item (hello, furry Gucci loafers!), but with word loudly and clearly marked: take a picture of me and, for some, spread my message. Standing out from the well-dressed crowd takes months of shopping and planning, but Ashley B.
After three consecutive weeks of shows, editors and the like are getting ready to touch down in Paris for the last and final stop of the Spring/Summer 2016 collections. Those who have been on the road the whole time are surely running low on outfits, so it’s time for some creative accessorizing.
We paid close attention to the fashion happening off the runway in New York and noted the head-to-toe fringe and distressed denim ensembles across the pond in London. Now it’s time to take at the stylish darlings who have infiltrated Milan for the shows. The best looks so far including bold prints (so Italian!), more inventive denim pieces, and minibags by hometown favorite, Fendi.
The key element to transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall is to invest in suede pieces. Not only will they keep you warm, but they also come in cool tobacco shades, which is perfect for autumn. (Think of yourself as a groovy Jane Birkin swanning through Paris!) Each year, nearly every designer shows a plethora of suede looks, which means that there plenty to choose from.
For years now, we’ve played as close attention to what’s happening off the runway as on. We might aspire to the latter, but it’s the former that offers wardrobe inspiration and style tips for right now. From ubiquitous fashion bloggers like Aimee Song to ever-present editors like Anna Dello Russo and international social stars like Miroslava Duma, the style set brought their A-game to Manhattan. While the fashion crowd flocks to New York to flaunt their best fall looks for the start of the Spring 2016 women’s collection, other fabulous types were making a splash all over the world. Elizabeth Olsen, Mary-Kate and Ashley’s little sister arrived to the premiere of Ruth and Alex at the 41st Deauville American Film Festival looking angelic in a white short sleeve gown from Calvin Klein Collection. Natalie Portman embraced her inner goddess in a flesh-tone lace one-shoulder Lanvin gown while attending the premiere of A Tale Of Love And Darkness at the 2015 Toronto Film Festival. From Victoria Beckham’s showing off her perfectly toned bod in her own label’s LBD to Irina Shayk’s white Versace power suit, here’s a look at this week’s best dressed.
