Not long after Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s speech at this year’s National Day Rally – where he spoke about the need for Singapore to go cashless – online marketplace Qoo10 has launched a new cashless payment system, called QPay. QPay lets shoppers pay for their purchases by using the Qoo10 app to scan a QR code at a merchant’s brick-and-mortar store. According to Hyun-wook Cho, country manager of Qoo10 Singapore, since QPay’s launch on 22 September, some 1,200 merchants have already signed up.
Fans of YG Entertainment artistes in Singapore and Indonesia can now get their beloved idols’ merchandise faster and more easily than on their official online shop, YG E-SHOP.
