Japanese discount chain Don Don Donki is set to rejuvenate shopping in the heart of Orchard Road when it opens its 24-hour Southeast Asia flagship store on Friday (1 December).
Japan’s popular discount store Don Don Donki will be opening its first Southeast Asian outlet at Orchard Central on Friday (1 December) from 10am. It will also have a “night market” concept featuring eight dining outlets in partnership with food manufacturer Hokkaido Marche. The exact opening hours for Hokkaido Marche will be confirmed nearer to the opening date.
It's that time of the year again - Orchard Road lights up for Christmas. This year's theme follows an "Endless Wonder" of fun and fantasy, featuring light displays and interactive installations. Starting from Tanglin Mall and ending at Plaza Singapura, the streets will be lit up from 3pm every day. Nine malls will also be competing for the "Best Dressed Building contest", and the public can vote for their favourite building on the Orchard Road website. The company’s third gym will open at Ngee Ann City by year end and will feature a new facility called the Innovation Lab.
We all know that the year is officially approaching its end when Singapore’s shopping district becomes adorned with mesmerising Christmas lights and decorations. This year is no different. From 12 November to 1 January, the Christmas light-up along Orchard Road begins from 3pm each day, which is much earlier than previous years. This is so that visitors can catch the lights during the day as well as night. The official light-up will happen on 11 November at 6:30pm.
