As Erinsborough patriarch Jim Robinson, Alan Dale was a Ramsay Street staple. “I made some sort of crack about the fact that when we started doing Neighbours [in 1985], we got paid the same money as when I was doing The Young Doctors [which he starred in from 1979-1983],” he told TV Week. On screen, Dieter Brummer’s Shane and Melissa George’s Angel were teen lovers.

There will be echoes of Ramsay Street in new Australian movie ‘Flammable Children’, with Kylie Minogue and fellow ex-Neighbours star Guy Pearce joining the cast. The coming of age comedy, set in 1975, will also be set in suburban Oz, and as if that hasn’t already got you humming Tony Hatch’s catchy theme tune, Radha Mitchell is also starring alongside them. Mitchell, recently seen in ‘London Has Fallen’, played Catherine O'Brien in the show from 1994 up to 1997.
