Review: 'All the Money in the World' is a powerful tale of wealth and crassness

“All the Money in the World” may have been plagued with multiple production issues, but that hasn’t stopped it from being an excellent film. Given the reshoot schedules and urgent recasting of Christopher Plummer as J. Paul Getty (he replaced Kevin Spacey), you’d have thought that it would show in the final product. The film is a crime thriller that’s based on the book “Painfully Rich: The Outrageous Fortunes and Misfortunes of the Heirs of J. Paul Getty”.

'Patriots Day' Trailer: Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Bacon Are on the Hunt for the Boston Marathon Bombers

The first Patriots Day teaser ended — ominously — just as the explosions went off in the docudrama’s depiction of the real-life events surrounding the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. On Monday morning, we got a full trailer that gives some hints about the desperate aftermath, including the manhunt for the two brothers who set that catastrophe in motion. In his second movie for director Peter Berg this year (after Deepwater Horizon), Mark Wahlberg plays a Boston police officer who’s patrolling the finish line that morning when the bombs hit the crowds of spectators. ...

Review: 'Deepwater Horizon' suffers from unfocused directing

“Deepwater Horizon” is a biographical disaster movie based on the 2010 accident on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig. It stars Mark Wahlberg (Mike Williams), Kurt Russell (Jimmy Harrell), John Malkovich (Donald Vidrine), Gina Rodriguez (Andrea Fleytas), Dylan O'Brien (Caleb Holloway), Kate Hudson (Felicia Williams), and Ethan Suplee (Jason Anderson).

Peter Berg’s upcoming disaster thriller Deepwater Horizon gives faces to the men and women who were aboard the titular drilling rig when it was rocked by an explosion. Chief among those faces in the film version is Mark Wahlberg, who plays Deepwater Horizon’s southern-drawled crewman Mike Williams. Deepwater Horizon is the first of two films this fall from Berg and Wahlberg, along with the Boston marathon bombing drama Patriots Day, which examine real-life tragedy through the lens of a suspenseful actioner.

The Stars of 'Daddy's Home' Have Very Different Approaches to Disciplining Their Kids

The stars of the hit comedy Daddy’s Home, which made a very solid $40 million in its opening weekend (just behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens), spoke with Yahoo Movies earlier this month about their own child-rearing philosophies. Will Ferrell — who plays a dopey stepdad to Mark Wahlberg’s badass biological father in the movie — jokingly embraced the age-old tactic of spanking. Appropriately for their characters in the film, his costar Wahlberg did not find Ferrell’s threats all that intimidating. (Watch the video above.)

Meet Will Ferrell's Passive Aggressive Santa in 'Daddy's Home'

Ho, ho… oh no. In this exclusive clip from the forthcoming Christmastime comedy Daddy’s Home, Will Ferrell plays a bad Santa. He stars as a radio exec named Brad who has just married the woman of his dreams: Sara, played by Linda Cardellini. The thing is, she has two children from a previous relationship with a freewheeling guy named Dusty (Mark Wahlberg), who hasn’t been around much… until now. Trying to shake off Dusty, Brad vies for the attention of his stepkids — at the expense of their unreliable birth dad.

They’ve built a full-scale suburban household — complete with a surrounding white picket fence — within the dark confines of a large soundstage at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in suburban New Orleans. Sure, the lawn is Astroturf, but the whole setup feels so homey you half-expect someone to start firing up burgers and dogs in the fake house’s fake backyard barbeque.
