Cafe Society is alive and in the words of Fred Astaire, ‘why don’t you go where fashion sits.’ Putting on the Ritz is exactly what Karl and his Chanel team did today for the house’s latest Métiers d’Art Show – or in plain fashion talk, the Chanel Resort 2017 show. To help celebrate the occasion Cara Delevingne opened the show in a cream tweed and floral headpiece, Pharrel Williams who is a longtime friend of Mr Lagerfeld also walked in the show sporting the house’s signature tweed coat in navy with piles of pearls. ...
You wouldn’t think that an ultra-low brow comedy about a duo of teenage convenience store clerks and yoga enthusiasts who do battle with an army of Nazi sausages could in any way result in a bracing attack of ‘the feels’ – but you might be surprised. Yahoo Movies invited Harley Quinn Smith, co-lead of ‘Yoga Hosers’ and daughter of director Kevin Smith, to interview her father on the eve of the film’s US theatrical release, and both parties were tearful by the end. In the interview, Smith Jr. only managed to ask her father a single question – to name his favourite actor he’d ever worked with.

However, it is the advert that we all can’t wait to see and we are expecting it to be just as quirky as the17 year-old. One thing is for sure, it’s definitely going to be something to talk about.
Kevin Smith has had to ask Johnny Depp and his ex-wife for parental consent sign-offs a couple times now. It happened first during the 2014 production of the director’s first foray into horror filmmaking, the certifiably weird shockfest Tusk, about a lunatic who turns a podcaster into his own pet walrus. Smith’s daughter, Harley Quinn, and Depp’s daughter, Lily-Rose, have been best friends since they met in kindergarten at 5.

It looks like Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose Depp may have to steel herself for a baptism of fire around her first proper film role. A review in the Hollywood Reporter suggests that even ardent fans of Smith, who has called it 'the movie I would have wanted to see back when I was a twelve year-old girl’ will likely 'draw the line at this outing’. The movie also stars Smith’s daughter, Harley Quinn Smith, opposite Depp, as a pair of convenience store workers from Manitoba who encounter an ancient evil from beneath the Earth’s crust.
At Chanel’s roving Paris-Salzburg Metiers d'Art show in New York in April 2015, Lily-Rose Depp had her unofficial coming out. Since then, the daughter of model Vanessa Paradis and actor Johnny Depp has sat front row at more shows for the famed French fashion house, been tapped by Karl Lagerfeld to be an ambassador for the brand, befriended celebrites including Bella Hadidi, Cara Delevingne, and Stella Maxwell, and kicked off her acting career. She’s grown up a lot in less than a year, and has scared her father sh**less. “To be honest, I’m quite worried,” the face of Dior’s latest fragrance admitted. “I wasn’t expecting all this to happen to Lily-Rose, especially not at this age.” Her fame’s unexpected for sure, but definitely fun to follow! Two of the most anticipated new horror movies of 2016 from two of the most prominent American cult directors of our time are set to enjoy their premiere screenings at the next Sundance Film Festival. Variety have announced the line-up for Sundance’s Midnight thread, a section dedicated to the more macabre end of independent filmmaking - and among them are the latest cinematic offerings from Kevin Smith and Rob Zombie. Kevin Smith made his name at Sundance with his ultra-low budget debut ‘Clerks’ back in 1994.
When it comes to red carpet dressing, Cate Blanchett loves to take risks—something she made all the more clear on the press junket circuit while promoting her latest film, Truth. At a recent screening in Los Angeles, the Oscar-winning Aussie chose a white knit Proenza Schouler dress with a high neck and bare shoulders, fresh off the New York runway—paired with crisscrossed Louboutin pumps, an easy updo, and glowing makeup. But she wasn’t the only star with an eye for Proenza this week: Fargo’s leading lady, Kirsten Dunst, showed up to the Season 2 premiere of the hit FX show wearing a sleeveless, olive green leather dress with ruffled hem, also by the label. From Zendaya’s sleek, minimalist Elizabeth and James dress to Lily-Rose Depp’s shoulder-baring, technicolor Chanel top, here are the rest of this week’s best dressed.Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest for nonstop inspiration delivered fresh to your feed, every day.
Five million dollars. That’s the magic number buzzing through Paris this morning — the rumored cost of Chanel’s epic airport show. Dubbed Aeroport Paris Cambon, and more specifically, Chanel Airlines Terminal 2C, the Grand Palais was transformed into the hangar of Karl Lagerfeld’s dreams on Tuesday morning.Guests showed their invitations — boarding passes, bien sûr — while passing under a large arrivals and departures board in the center of the runway that cleverly listed the locales of Chanel’s previously held resort and prefall shows (Tokyo, Seoul, Rome, Singapore, and Dubai among them). Chanel-clothed ticket agents and branded luggage carts offered Instagram fodder for street style stars like Anna Dello Russo, Giovanna Battaglia, and Garance Doré.Right before takeoff, Cara Delevingne scurried in to take her seat in the center of the runway with her girlfriend, Annie Clark, and Lagerfeld’s godson, Hudson Kroenig, in tow. The budding actress might have retired from the runway, but she looked thrilled while taking the final lap with Lagerfeld and his godson (which, judging from the scowl on her face while sitting front row, might just be because she’d rather do anything than babysit a 6-year-old).As for the clothes! If Lagerfeld was making a statement on the transient nature of fashion, he underscored that point by sending out 100 very different looks. Edie Campbell was the first to hit the runway in a plaid pantsuit with a full set of Chanel luggage with her. (Can’t wait to see which editors will be towing those babies next fashion season.) Of course there were tweed suits, double “C”-printed denim (sure to be a big hit), mix-and-match printed tops and pants with shirts tied around the waist, scarf dresses with a Chanel arrivals board print, and light-as-air floral print dresses that were spliced at the pleats. Lagerfeld’s rampant use of accessories made sure the show’s maximalist message was loud and clear: supersized aviators, bags layered with bags, flat sandals that lit up at the sole (like a tarmac, get it?), plus the luggage. Oh, the luggage! Every model rolled out a piece for the last looks. If only real airports were half as chic.As any good celebrity knows, airports mean paparazzi. Lily-Rose Depp caused such a scrum after it was all over that two photographers started to push each other to get her picture, causing the frightened 16-year-old to be whisked away backstage by her mother, Vanessa Paradis. Safely away from the fracas, Italian fashion diva Dello Russo offered a string of single-word reactions to the show: “Fun. Fantastic. Glamour. Fashion. Love. Woo!” she said. Wearing a white Chanel suit with high-heeled booties and sunglasses, she added, “I want more than the luggage. Accessories, hats, sunglasses … I liked it because it was super-accessorized. I like when the look is overdone!”Don’t we all?Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest for nonstop inspiration delivered fresh to your feed, every day.
Lily-Rose Depp attended the Chanel show as part of Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture FW 2015 in July in Paris, France. Photo: Getty Images Unlike other privileged teenagers who attend debutante balls to mark their official entrée into society, Lily-Rose Depp’s coming out was at a Chanel show. With her mother, Vanessa Paradis, the teenager took in Karl Lagerfeld’s Paris-Salzburg Metiers d'Art collection in New York wearing an an embellished midriff-baring top and pencil skirt. Since then, she’s caught the attention of fashion’s elite and even Hollywood, but the bright spotlight shining on the 16-year-old has her father, actor Johnny Depp, switched on concerned parent mode.
Lily-Rose Depp makes her Vogue debut in the magazine’s Paris issue. Photo: Inez & Vinoodh/Instagram It’s been less than one year since Lily-Rose Depp made her fashion debut, walking the red carpet with mom Vanessa Paradis at a Chanel show and party in New York. Since then, the 15-year-old has made her magazine debut in Oyster magazine, come out as “not straight,” and has started hanging out with Victoria’s Secret Angels. But nothing says I’ve arrived like a Vogue editorial.
On Tuesday night, Karl Lagerfeld brought his roving Paris-Salzburg Metiers d'Art collection all the way from Austria to New York. Having first shown these exquisite clothes in December at the Schloss Leopoldskron, Lagerfeld created a replica set (in a mere 36 hours) that was comprised of a grandiose salon-like setting replete with antique couches, tables, and chandeliers. And while the gorgeousness of a Chanel show cannot be denied, there was a new face in the audience that really stood out from the typical madding crowd. Making her first fashion show appearance was the beautiful Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of actor Johnny Depp and Chanel model/muse/French actress/icon Vanessa Paradis. “It’s a first,” said Paradis of the familial fashion outing, which also included her 11-year-old son, Jack. “It’s moving and emotional.” As for the being back in New York? “I lived here a long time ago and each time I’m back it just fills my heart with sparkles. I love it. It’s really awesome.” For the occasion, mademoiselle Depp wore a light blue two-piece—a crop top with an attached scarf and a long skirt that was hand embroidered with crystals. The 15-year-old budding fashion star looked graceful and elegant and way beyond her years. After a runway presentation that was comprised of 70 or so looks that were inspired by traditional Austrian wardrobe, Depp and Paradis said their hellos to Karl in fluent French, while Jack waited patiently nearby. Afterward guests such as Dakota Johnson, Patti Smith, and Beyoncé (yes, she was there too) ambled into an adjoining room for champagne, passed plates, and to watch Reincarnation, a short film directed by—who else?—Lagerfeld that stars Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne. Williams quickly materialized from onscreen to onstage for the evening’s final hurrah—a multi-song set that included an original number called “CC The World” which included a quick solo refrain by Delevingne. (Hollywood take note, the girl can sing!) Williams then went on to crank out his most recent hits including the litigious “Blurred Lines” and “Happy.” For the latter, Lagerfeld’s adorable godson Hudson Kroenig bopped around onstage with Williams and his baes, and even grabbed a rose from a screaming fan in the audience. The night was still going strong when the deejay took back over and Lily-Rose was spotted twirling around the dance floor in her sparkling Chanel finery. Related: Welcome to Brasserie Gabriella!
