‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ didn’t just see the debut of Ben Affleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, we were also introduced to Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, too. Since Jesse Eisenberg is one of the most talented young actors in American cinema and Lex Luthor is an iconic villain in Superman’s oeuvre, you’d imagine that we’ll be seeing a lot more of the character as Warner Bros.’ DC Universe expands.

While we might not have a new trailer for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” since we’re getting pretty close to the movie’s release, we do have some new footage courtesy of the CW’s “Dawn of the Justice League” special. Gotham City being right next door to Metropolis in the film, we get to see how a regular, powerless (but very wealthy) human witnessed the Kryptonian invasion a few years earlier in “Man of Steel.” Storytelling-wise, it’s an interesting technique to recap the events of prior movies, but we also get to see how this colours Batman’s opinion of Superman.
There’s not long to wait until Zack Snyder’s ‘Batman v Superman: Daw of Justice’ bursts onto cinemas, so the latest TV spot has served to whet our appetites just a little bit more. “You will,” Batman follows up.
It has been revealed that Jesse Eisenberg, the new Lex Luthor in the upcoming ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ was initially offered a different role. Many fans had been screaming out for an older actor more closely resembling the comic book character, such as Bryan Cranston or Mark Strong - but with the much younger, less immediately threatening Eisenberg in the role, we can immediately expect a very different take on the iconic villain. Hinting at how this new take on the character will stand apart, Eisenberg says audiences can expect “a back story that’s tragic and an emotional inner life that’s authentic,” and praises screenwriter Chris Terrio (’Argo’) for “creating a character that seemed viable in reality.

The unexpected news comes from a fictionalised profile of the character on Fortune, which says that Lex Luthor Snr was “indomitable”, “vicious” and more than a little curious about “strange meteorite crystals”.
It’s official – the latest ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ trailer has appeared online after its debut at San Diego Comic Con. Well, first things first… it looks as though Batman and Superman are going to battle it out in rather spectacular fashion.
