“Hana Yori Dango” is returning with a second season. Late last month, it was announced that veteran actors from the first season of the famous Japanese drama “Hana Yori Dango” will be reprising their roles in the second season. One such character is none other than the leader of F4, Tsukasa Domyouji, who is played by Jun Matsumoto.
Do you still remember “Hana Yori Dango”, otherwise known as “Boys Over Flowers”? After the two-part drama in 2005 and 2007, a movie in 2008 and multiple remakes both in Japan and internationally, the manga-turned-drama is finally making a comeback on 17 April in Japan with a brand-new season. Titled “Hana Nochi Hare HanaDan Next Season” or “Boys Over Flowers Season 2”, the drama continues the story at Eitoku Academy, 10 years after F4 graduated.
2017 already saw the return of popular TV shows such as “Twin Peaks”, “Prison Break” and “Star Trek”. Taiwanese producer Angie Chai, who helmed the original 2001 drama, announced that a 48-episode reboot is slated for release in 2018. According to Mingpao, Chai shared that she wanted to bring “Meteor Garden” back on the small screen after the popular manga’s creator completed the whole story.
Taiwan’s “Meteor Garden” may be getting a remake, and now it seems the original Japanese series isn’t letting itself get left behind, either. According to Japanese entertainment site Cyzo Woman, the new remake of Yoko Kamio’s shoujo manga “Hana Yori Dango” is looking at model and actress Hirose Suzu to play the lead role of Makino Tsukushi.
