Doctor Strange almost had a different villain
During an interview with Empire Magazine, director Scott Derrickson revealed that ‘Doctor Strange’ almost faced a very different villain. “The trouble with starting with Nightmare is getting across the idea of the Dream Dimension as another dimension. The controller of the Nightmare Realm and Dream Dimension, Nightmare has encountered Doctor Strange on several occasions… but is nowhere near as powerful (or as prevalent) as Dormammu.

Benedict Cumberbatch had another HUGE role in Doctor Strange
It looks as though Benedict Cumberbatch isn’t just Doctor Strange. During an interview with IGN, director Scott Derrickson confirmed that ‘Doctor Strange’ features Cumberbatch in a very different role - the villainous Dormammu. “We knew it was an all CG character, but as we were in production Benedict brought it up as an idea,” he explained.
