Japanese discount retailer Don Don Donki says the landlord at its Orchard Road store did not allow it to sell sex toys, which is why such products are sold at its new Tanjong Pagar outlet but not at the Orchard outlet. Don Don Donki’s newly opened store at the 100 AM mall in Tanjong Pagar stocks Tenga brand sex toys, but the products were removed from its first Singapore store at Orchard Central mall last year shortly after it opened in December.
UPDATE on 22 June 2018 at 4.15pm: Don Don Donki said its Orchard Central landlord did not allow it to sell sex toys.
Japanese discount store Don Don Donki’s second outlet in Singapore will have a new “mobile foods” concept to cater to busy workers in the CBD area – and don’t worry, the baked sweet potato, one of the store’s most popular items, is still on the menu. It will have a Japan Mobile Foods section, which offers takeaway items such as yakitomorokoshi (Japanese-style grilled sweet corn), takosen (octopus takoyaki sandwiched between Japanese crackers), watagashi (fruity and colourful cotton candy), and gelato. Unlike the store’s flagship Orchard Central store, which is open 24-hours, the new outlet will operate daily from 8am to midnight, although it will open at 10am on its first day of operation.
Japan’s popular discount store Don Don Donki will be opening its second outlet on 14 June at the 100 AM mall in Tanjong Pagar.
