Swedish luxury label J.Lindeberg opens its first flagship store in China

Swedish luxury clothing brand J.Lindeberg opened its first flagship store in Shanghai on September 6, reported the Chinese-language Fashion Trend Digest online magazine Friday.

The flagship boutique, located in Shanghai's Grand Gateway Plaza, will retail menswear and selected apparel from the Golf collection.

The Swedish label also announced it will open 30 stores in over 10 cities in China, including Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Shenyang and Changchun, by end 2012.

J.Lindeberg China General Manager Kristian Goth Vinther told the magazine that the brand's "unique DNA," a fusion of modern technology and classic tailoring with the Scandinavian style, makes it easy for its customers to find the right clothes for all occasions. "This is just the beginning of our plan. China will be an important market for J.Lindeberg, one with a lot of opportunities," added Vinther.

J.Lindeberg is known for its prêt-a-porter collections that bridge Scandinavian functionality with luxury fashion. At the recent Stockholm Fashion Week in August, the company unveiled its Spring/Summer 2013 show titled ‘Sweden from above', presenting a collection that showed patchwork details, sculptural leather and tailoring mixed with sportswear influences.

Founded by Johan Lindeberg, the eponymous Swedish luxury brand began in 1997 by making clothes that successfully combined fashion with sportswear. Today, the company's main collection, on top of its golf and ski ranges, is sold in more than 35 countries worldwide.
