Sarah Geronimo is wearing a lot of hats for her 10th anniversary album, which is scheduled for release in time for her birthday this month.

In an exclusive interview with Yahoo! Philippines OMG!, Viva Records executive vice president MG Mozo related that Sarah G. assumed a more hands-on position in her album—this time as  singer, producer and even composer.

According to Mozo, the singer’s anniversary album speaks volumes about what Sarah has become since she became “Star for a Night" champion, up to the present, when she is considered most successful Viva talent of her generation.

“Definitely she’s getting more mature not just ‘yung choice niya sa music, but the way she would think [and even] emotionalizing. Of course, she’s an emotional singer naman. But now, she’s matured because of her experiences in life.”

‘Global’ popstar

Mozo adds that the OMG! Awards's Female Performer of the Year nominee’s success has gone global—thanks to her fans.

“She’s consistently a best-seller… of course because of the fans all over the world. And she does movies also so she crosses not just the recording but [also] movies and concerts.”

“Last year, she was nominated for Kids Choice Award and World Music Awards. Then she won the Mnet Asian Music Awards in Korea. That would show that she’s being recognized around the world, not just here in the Philippines. So needless to say, the market is getting bigger,” Mozo continued.

Hands-on producer, composer

The Viva executive noted that  the 25-year-old singer gave her album the personal touch.

Perfectionist Sarah sat down with photographer Mark Nicdao and Viva’s creative team to brainstorm the overall look, even the details of her photo shoot.

Popsters will hear their idol singing her own composition in the album, which is made up of  nine originals and just one remake.

“Sabi niya, ‘Nahihiya po ako but I have written some. Maybe I could collaborate with a songwriter or maybe si Sir Louie (Ocampo) po,” Mozo related. Sarah is set to record the inspirational song she wrote this week.

Record with pa; song for ma

Mozo also told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! that Sarah G.’s upcoming album has a lot of firsts.  It’s the first time she recorded a duet with her father Delfin ("You’ve Got a Friend”) and dedicated a song to her controversial mother Divine in an album.

On Twitter, Sarah excitedly posted a photo with her dad. The caption read: “Recording a duet with my Daddy Delfin pogi for my new album. Coming out really soon!”

The Viva boss also predicted that the feel-good love song “Again” (composed by Vehnee Saturno) and another song (by Tito Cayamanda) could be the latest additions to Sarah’s hit list.

Thirst for knowledge

Viva’s executive vice president noted that Sarah’s continued success lies in her thirst for knowledge.

“She’s really a multi-talented artist. She’s been very consistent in learning more and more each day. She tries to learn some more.”

For example, during her last major concert, Sarah tried  playing the piano. Mozo adds that learning to play the guitar also occurred to Sarah.

“Sarah has been very diligent and very passionate about her music, about her fans din. Nakikita din ng fans how genuine and nice she is as a person.”
