Is love really sweeter the second time around?

Luis Manzano, who just reconciled with Angel Locsin after both of them got into separate relationships, seems to agree.

The Kapamilya host says their new love story is a lot better than the previous one.

The smallest things count

"She texts paggising niya or when she gets home. Before, wala eh. Right now, she exerts more effort. It's really the smallest things that count in our relationship. We talk. If there's any issue, we talk beforehand. Before we act, we talk. We're sweeter. She's always good," ," Luis said after the press conference of Sensodyne's Say No to Ngilo at Makati Shangri-la Hotel on Thursday, March 27.

Luis admits he's the more romantic one, but Angel is now exerting more effort to express her love.

"Yung first part of the relationship, I was more romantic. But now, humahabol siya. It's one of the things I was open to her about. I am more showy eh.”

Issues resolved

Luis added that he and Angel have resolved certain issues and laid down their expectations.

"We had a good conversation about our previous love story.  At least now she knows what I want, what I'm expecting. At the same time, I know what she wants. It's gonna be smooth-sailing for this next chapter in our love story."

Luis is happy their respective families approve of their reconciliation. He shared that  Angel's father has always been good to him. His mother,  Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos,   also gets along with Angel.

‘Welcome home’

"It was like watching two friends talk. When Angel got to my house, I remembered my mom said, 'Welcome home.' I  must step back and watch them. I didn't wanna intrude in their conversation. Ang sarap nilang panuorin making up for  lost time."

Luis and Angel said on Kris TV that they have been discussing marriage.

But Luis wants to be fully financially stable before starting a family. He admitted that he needs to earn more give his future family the "good life."

Vague concept

"Engagement, maybe yes (I'm ready). Marriage, I still wanna do some things, make more money. I have this idea of a good life that I want to give my soon-to-be family. With my current income, maybe I can give a good life for three, five years? Having children is a different topic. With the way things are, I still wanna work for that life."

When does he plan to propose marriage?

"Right now it's hard to give any teasers. I don't wanna put the guards up. Para sa akin, I want it na when she's vulnerable that's when I'll pop the big question."

He shared that he already has "a vague concept" of what he wants to do.

"I have one foot on something very simple, elegant and one foot on something very grand."
