The house that inspired The Amityville Horror has been sold
112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, Long Island, New York – the real-life house which inspired ‘The Amityville Horror’ – has just been sold. Built in 1927, 112 Ocean Avenue has a dark history. The case was chronicled in Jay Anson’s 1977 book ‘The Amityville Horror,’ which was adapted for the screen in 1979 by director Stuart Rosenberg, with a cast including James Brolin, Margot Kidder and Rod Steiger.
