It’s not the first time the Duchess has showcased the nautical inspired McQueen outfit. The navy/black and white style outfit with gold button detailing made its debut as Kate met those affected by the Birmingham riots in 2011.

On Sunday, the focus may have been on the Golden Globes in Los Angeles, but over in London, there was plenty to talk about thanks to Men’s London Fashion Week. We were particularly impressed by Sarah Burton’s most recent collection for Alexander McQueen. The designer sent an army of male models down the runway in Victoriana-inspired garb with a punk rock twist: crazy face piercings that made all of the models look like they came from a Sex Pistols show. We’ve seen face jewelry before, but nothing like this.
Fortunately there are plenty to choose from thanks to designers such as Altuzarra, Gucci, and Alexander McQueen. “I think it’s best if you team it with denim or leather,” says stylist Emily Barnes who savvily dressed model Cameron Russell in a black lace Altuzarra top and Baldwin denim pencil skirt for the recent CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards.
While the fashion crowd flocks to New York to flaunt their best fall looks for the start of the Spring 2016 women’s collection, other fabulous types were making a splash all over the world. Elizabeth Olsen, Mary-Kate and Ashley’s little sister arrived to the premiere of Ruth and Alex at the 41st Deauville American Film Festival looking angelic in a white short sleeve gown from Calvin Klein Collection. Natalie Portman embraced her inner goddess in a flesh-tone lace one-shoulder Lanvin gown while attending the premiere of A Tale Of Love And Darkness at the 2015 Toronto Film Festival. From Victoria Beckham’s showing off her perfectly toned bod in her own label’s LBD to Irina Shayk’s white Versace power suit, here’s a look at this week’s best dressed.
Photo: @ladygaga/Instagram Aside from the models contractually obligated to wear Alexander McQueen’s Armadillo boots down the runway, Lady Gaga was one of the only women who was brave enough to take them for a spin in real life. Collectively, the shoes fetched $295,000, far exceeding expectations of an estimated $10,000 to $15,000 each. Christie’s and Alexander McQueen both announced the successful conclusion of the sale on their Instagrams, but neither revealed the purchaser at the time.
