Syamsul Yusof's wife, Puteri Sarah files complaints against alleged third party

1 Jul – After much back and forth, actress Puteri Sarah Liyana recently decided to file two complaints at the religious office against another woman who is alleged to be her husband Syamsul Yusof's lover.

The 37-year-old actress, who was seen outside the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), stated that she made the said decision after four years of having to keep it all to herself.

"After returning from performing my umrah in May, I can finally see clearly what I should do, and I was determined to do it," she said, adding that she had already submitted all the information to her lawyer prior to leaving for Mecca.

Puteri Sarah stated that she was determined to defend her dignity after keeping silent for so long.

"This would not have gone on if I wasn't harassed by the third party. Previously, I've shared on Instagram that the other party challenged me to take action. So now, we've decided to file two complaints," she said.

The actress said that she has thought long and hard about what will happen to her, her marriage and her family, and hopes that her action will pave the way for other women who are in the same situation.

On the other hand, Puteri Sarah's legal rep, Ummi Kartini stated that the other party has already received the interim injunction order last Tuesday.

Prior to the said action, it was reported that Puteri Sarah and "Mat Kilau" director Syamsul Yusof were having marital woes following the involvement of a third party. In a previous interview, she admitted to no longer live with the director.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, are parents to two children, Shaikhul Islam and Sumayyah.
