Syamel accidentally revealed baby's gender: I got too excited!
9 Nov – It's a baby girl for celebrity couple Syamel and Ernie Zakri, who will soon be welcoming their first child together.
The news of the baby's gender came by accident after Syamel blurted out about it during his performance at the Patriotik Tanah Airku Concert in Istana Budaya.
Speaking to the media soon after, he said, "It was our intention to announce the gender of our baby, but it wasn't supposed to be anytime soon... but maybe I was too excited being in front of our fans that I accidentally spilled it out."
On the other hand, Ernie stated that she is fine with Syamel accidentally announcing it, adding that she had no plans to do a gender reveal event anyway.
She also poked fun at her husband on social media, writing, "Thank you for all your support. Please pray for us. Someone accidentally revealed the gender yesterday after being too excited to finally hold a concert."
The couple, who tied the knot early this year, will be welcoming their daughter in March next year.
