Supergirl Casts Metallo for Season 2

Supergirl‘s reunion with Superman will unwittingly spawn the birth of an iconic DC Comics villain.

Picking up where Smallville‘s Brian Austin Green (and the voice of Justice League: Doom‘s Paul Blackthorne) left off, Frederick Schmidt will appear in multiple Season 2 episodes of The CW’s new superhero drama as Metallo.

Per EW.com, Supergirl‘s Metallo arrives in the form of assassin John Corben who, after getting the tar beat out of him by the superpowers cousins (played by Melissa Benoist and Tyler Hoechlin), is rescued and revived by a mysterious organization as a kryptonite-powered supervillain.

PHOTOSSupergirl Meets Wonder Woman: A First Look at ‘President’ Lynda Carter

Schmidt will appear in at least two episodes, including the series’ CW debut.

Supergirl Season 2 premieres Monday, Oct. 10 at 8/7c, leading into Jane the Virgin.
