Su Man Chong returns to TVB because of its changes

20 Sep - It was revealed that the changes made within TVB was the reason why producer Su Man Chong decided to return to the company.

As reported on Mingpao, the producer who is known for his many hit dramas with TVB since the '90s including "Triumph in the Skies" and "Lives of Omission", left the company back in 2011 to join Ricky Wong's HKTV. He continued to produce two dramas with HKTV, including the hit cop series, "The Borderline".

However, despite being one of TVB's biggest critics, Su returned in 2016 to helm "Line Walker: The Prelude", which premiered on 18 September.

When asked about the return, Su stated that he agreed because of the changes made by TVB following the exodus of TVB stars and employees to HKTV in the early 2010s.

"The TVB management now has a new policy, which is more open and free compared to the past. It brings about a new atmosphere," he said.

Su also added that as a producer, all he wanted is to create good Hong Kong dramas, which is why he decided to return to TVB and continue their cooperation.
